LHS Families & Friends,
As we continue to move forward together, I want to express my sincere appreciation for your ongoing support and dedication to Lutheran High School and our mission to help students “Grow & Serve in Christ.”
The last several months have provided us exciting opportunities to reflect on where we are and where God is calling us to go next.
Recently, we have engaged in a Mission Delivery Vision Process in collaboration with the Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF). In September, we held our final Vision Event here on campus, and I am incredibly grateful for the valuable feedback we’ve received from many of you throughout this process. The insights shared during these events, along with the hundreds of surveys returned during our Planning Study with the Steier Group, have laid the groundwork for what’s to come. The LCEF will now take all of this information and begin to construct a vision for our future, which will guide the development of our next strategic plan.
One of the most exciting outcomes of this journey has been the clear desire to enhance and expand our facilities, closely aligned with the highest priorities you helped identify as part of the recent Planning Study. Currently, we are engaging with architectural firms to create renderings and schematic drawings for several key projects, including:
- Developing a warming kitchen to support a lunch catering program and Grab-and-Go options
- Updating our Commons to provide enhanced worship space and performance opportunities for shows and concerts
- Updating our science classrooms with state-of-the-art facilities for our students
- Refurbishing the 100s wing to create a more vibrant and functional space for learning
- Phase I of the baseball/softball field development, including a backstop and permanent fencing for a dual-use field

In addition to these high-priority projects, we are also in discussions about future expansions, including a multi-purpose space for indoor events and practices, as well as a dedicated performing arts center. These exciting projects are a direct response to your feedback and will greatly enrich the experience for our students both academically and in their extracurricular activities.
Just as we have seen the successful installation of the new scoreboard at our soccer, football, and track stadium, the realization of these future projects will heavily rely on the engagement and generosity of our supporters. Your partnership will not only make these developments possible but also ensure that they align with the evolving needs and priorities of the entire Lutheran High School community.
As I continue my second year as Head of School, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the potential that lies ahead. Our recent successes and the growth we have experienced are just the beginning. Together, we have the opportunity to build on this strong foundation creation a future where our students continue to thrive spiritually, academically, and personally.
Thank you for your unwavering support of LHS! I look forward to the incredible journey ahead as we continue to live out our mission, helping every student “Grow and Serve in Christ.”

HEAD OF SCHOOL
Cougar Nation!
As I reflect on the past months, I’m reminded of the many shared accomplishments and experiences of our LHS family.
Our homecoming week theme was “Around the World”. It was a week filled with dress days, pep rallies, decorated hallways, powder puff football and iron man dodgeball, the homecoming football game, and of course, the big dance! Our LHS community celebrated its rich history and traditions with pride and spirit!
The fall athletic season was one of many notable achievements. Both XC teams placed in state, our girls took 5th and the boys finished 8th. Girls Tennis won districts, Girls Golf had 4 state qualifiers, Cheer finished 3rd in state, and our Volleyball team claimed the district championship and took 3rd at State.
Our clubs and activities have also been successful! Thanks to the hard work of 40 talented students, the Theatre Department put on a production of Clue. Our music students displayed their talents in our Fall Concert, “A Jubilant Song”. The Key Club and Roboteers joined forces to assemble 110 Operation Christmas Child boxes, doubling last year’s total! Teens for Life sponsored a blood drive, collecting 39 units of blood for our community. The Scholar Bowl Team has competed in contests across the region with the freshmen/sophomore team winning the Clayton Novice
Invitational! These groups, along with countless others, are active throughout the year competing, serving, and creating, to further nurture student interests and talents.
Most importantly, LHS is continually blessed with faculty, staff, students, and guest speakers from local Lutheran churches who share the Gospel. Witnessing the confirmation of Mrs. Sarah Herman in chapel this fall reminds us that God is at work in this place every day!
In conclusion, LHS is blessed with a dedicated faculty and staff. Our students continue to shine as they make the most of their gifts. I am so pleased to be part of the LHS mission as we Grow and Serve in Christ together!
