FOOTBALL
Tackling Life with Faith and Teamwork
The mission of the LHS Football team is “Building Champions for Life” to produce a well rounded student-athlete, grounded in faith-based principles.
A “Champion’s Curriculum” ensures that young men develop into great mentors, husbands, fathers and leaders in their community. Many coaches spend a large amount of time focusing on the physical aspect of the game. While physical preparation in important, the LHS football coaches feel it is just as important to dedicate time to the mental and spiritual aspect of the game and how it relates to life.

Coach Pierre Desir
A St. Louis native and Lindenwood University graduate, Desir is a former eight-year NFL veteran whose career was marked not only by excellence on the field, but by leadership and service off of it. He was twice named a Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee, an honor recognizing character, community involvement, and positive impact beyond the game.
Following his NFL career, Desir has dedicated himself to developing young athletes through coaching, training, and community initiatives. He currently serves as CEO of Push Athletics, an organization focused on skill development, mentorship, and exposure opportunities for student-athletes. Through Push Athletics, he has led boys 7v7 programs and girls flag football initiatives, emphasizing discipline, accountability, leadership, and personal growth alongside athletic performance.
Desir’s experience with athletes across multiple age groups has shaped a holistic coaching philosophy that aligns seamlessly with Lutheran High School’s mission to Grow and Serve in Christ. He views football as a platform to develop the whole student-athlete—spiritually, academically, and athletically—while building a culture rooted in faith, integrity, and excellence.
