Cougar Connection: New Faces, Same Mission – Meet Our 2025–2026 Board of Directors

LHS Community,

As we begin the 2025–2026 school year at Lutheran High School, we pause to give thanks for the faithful service of our Board of Directors—individuals who prayerfully and strategically guide the mission and vision of LHS. Their work often happens behind the scenes, but its impact is seen in every step our school takes to grow, improve, and remain firmly rooted in Christ.
This summer, we recognize and thank Mike Wadley (Zion)Mike Rozema (Child of God), and Barry Waggoner (Peace) for completing their six-year terms of service. Each has provided thoughtful leadership, generous time, and deep commitment to the mission of LHS. Mike Wadley’s guidance as past Board Chair was instrumental in navigating seasons of transition and growth. Mike Rozema, who served as Vice-Chair and Secretary, offered a steady and collaborative voice in shaping governance. Barry Waggoner’s financial insight and service on the Finance Committee have been critical to stewarding our resources wisely.

As we say thank you to these three departing members, we also joyfully welcome two new members to the Board:

Katie Jones (Child of God) brings a heart for service and years of experience developing programs that support individuals with disabilities. As Chief Program Officer at Boone Center Inc. and a long-time advocate on the Missouri Governor’s Council on Disability, Katie blends compassionate leadership with strategic insight. Her Christ-centered approach and strong belief in the mission of Lutheran education make her an excellent fit for our Board.

Blake Brown (Zion) serves as Assistant Vice-President at Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) and brings a national lens to the future of Lutheran education. His years of experience working with Lutheran schools across the country equip him to navigate the challenges and opportunities we face today. As a parent and passionate supporter of Gospel-centered education, Blake offers both insight and personal investment in the future of LHS.

Returning to lead the Board this year is Amy Malterer (Messiah) as Chair and Chris Foshage (Immanuel–St. Charles) as Vice Chair. Amy, now in her second year as Chair, brings over a decade of connection to Lutheran High through her four children and active involvement in the LHS community. She leads with grace, clarity, and a deep sense of gratitude for how Lutheran High has shaped her family. Chris brings a data-driven, strategic mindset from her work as a Finance Project Manager at BJC Health System. Her leadership is shaped by over 15 years of active support for Lutheran High and a deep belief in the power of Christ-centered academics.
