ATHLETICS

God’s glory, our game.

Our athletic programs draw out the values of Lutheran High before, during and after competition.

Our student-athletes lead by example, demonstrating humility and compassion for their team and competitors; compete with integrity, representing the best of LHS and Christian competition; and build authentic relationships with Jesus and each other, sharing their Christian faith openly while growing as disciples of Jesus on and off the field.

Lutheran High School is a member of the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) and the Archdiocesan Athletic Association (AAA). This dual affiliation offers our student-athletes a variety of opportunities for competition and post-season play.

Spiritually

Cougar athletes understand that the ultimate victory is through Christ, who ran the race of salvation for us (Hebrews 12:2). Our athletes demonstrate perseverance, knowing that their greatest reward is eternal life with God (Revelation 2:10). Inspired by Christ’s example (2 Timothy 4:7-8), they compete with integrity and purpose.

Mentally

Academic excellence is a priority for Cougar athletes. They recognize that education prepares them for lives of Christian service and approach learning with respect and dedication. LHS athletes serve as role models, honoring God through their behavior on and off the field.

Physically

Winning is an attitude of preparation, effort, and commitment to excellence. Cougar athletes compete with determination and poise, embracing the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, and perseverance. They understand that both winning and losing offer valuable learning experiences that shape their character.

Emotionally

Our program instills self-discipline, self-respect, and teamwork—qualities that lead to lifelong success. Our athletes understand that team success is greater than personal accolades and that by prioritizing the team’s achievements over individual recognition, they build a culture of trust, leadership, and shared accomplishment.

LHS Athletics Highlights

High School Teams

At our school, athletics are more than just games—they're opportunities for students to connect, compete, grow and lead. We proudly offer 13 different sports throughout the fall, winter and spring seasons.

Junior Cougar Program

Everyone is welcome to be a Cougar and that's why we connect with our elementary schools through athletics. The Junior Cougar program is an important way for LHS to invest in our community and offer young athletes a Christ-centered alternative to traditional club sports.

Summer Camps

Our summer camps help students grow spiritually and personally while developing skills in sports and activities—all led by LHS coaches and teachers.
