LHS community,

I hope this message finds you well and that you have had a restful and enjoyable summer break. As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I am excited to share some significant updates and improvements that have taken place or soon will take place on our campus. These include our stadium field, a new scoreboard, and an indoor batting cage.

In May, we received substantial damage to our stadium field caused by a severe wind storm. After careful assessment with engineers and our insurance adjuster, it has been determined that the field needs to be replaced to ensure the quality of our playing surface. We are working diligently with our insurance company and our contractor to have the new turf installed as soon as possible, with minimal disruption to our fall sports and PE classes. Many thanks to our Director of Athletics, Melvin Bethany, and our Director of Facilities, Dave Leppien, for their tireless efforts and diligence in helping to secure a new playing surface!

In addition to the necessary field replacement, we are pleased to inform you that later this fall, our stadium will be equipped with a new digital and video scoreboard! We are deeply grateful to Randy Southmayd for this donation to cover 100% of the project! This state-of-the-art scoreboard not only improves the experience for our athletes and spectators but also brings a new level of excitement and engagement to our games and events.

What a blessing! The scoreboard and batting cage were made possible through the generous contributions of our dedicated donors, and we are incredibly grateful for their support! Philanthropy and giving play a vital role in our mission. Your generosity not only enhances our facilities and programs but also allows us to continue providing a nurturing and enriching environment for our students. Whether you have a specific project or initiative in mind, know that 100% of any donor-directed funds will go exactly where you intend. If you’d like to explore other opportunities to support the mission of LHS and make a lasting impact on our students, I would be delighted to discuss how you can help. It is through your support that we are able to offer a holistic education that “nurtures spiritual, academic, and personal growth, equipping students for lives of Christian Service!”
