The mission of the LHS football team is “Building Champions for Life” to produce a well rounded student-athlete, grounded in faith-based principles.  A “Champion’s Curriculum” ensures that young men develop into great mentors, husbands, fathers and leaders in their community. Many coaches spend a large amount of time focusing on the physical aspect of the game. While physical preparation in important, the LHS football coaches feel it is just as important to dedicate time to the mental and spiritual aspect of the game and how it relates to life.

Coach Mercé Roach

Coach Mercé Roach brings a wealth of experience and a passion for both football and mentorship to his new role as the Head Football Coach at Lutheran High School. Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Coach Roach's journey through football and leadership roles has prepared him to inspire and guide young athletes on and off the field.

With a strong foundation in education from Greenville University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with an emphasis in Mass Communications, Coach Roach quickly immersed himself in the world of football coaching. His journey began as a Quarterbacks Coach at Greenville University, where he honed his skills in developing players within an offensive system. From there, he held various coaching positions at both the high school and collegiate levels, each contributing to his extensive knowledge of the game.

Coach Roach's dedication to the development of young athletes is evident in his roles as the Executive Director and Lead Quarterback Coach at The MRQU QB Academy since 2012. Through this endeavor, he has not only refined the physical skills of quarterbacks aged 8 and up but has also instilled invaluable lessons in mental toughness and character development.

In addition to his coaching endeavors, Coach Roach currently serves as the Executive Director at Mercé Roach Tax Resolution Advisors, demonstrating his ability to lead and manage diverse teams effectively. Furthermore, his tenure as the Senior Pastor at the 1st Baptist Church of Northwoods in St. Louis highlights his commitment to spiritual guidance and community leadership.

Coach Roach's previous coaching stints at Duchesne High School, St. Mary of The Woods College, and Lutheran St. Charles have equipped him with the strategic acumen and player development expertise necessary to lead a successful football program. His roles as Offensive Coordinator, Associate Head Coach, and Sports Information Director reflect his multifaceted approach to coaching, encompassing both on-field performance and off-field support for student-athletes.

With a proven track record of success in developing players, implementing effective offensive schemes, and fostering a culture of excellence, Coach Mercé Roach is poised to elevate the football program at Lutheran High School St. Charles to new heights. His dedication to the holistic development of student-athletes aligns perfectly with the school's mission, promising an exciting future for the football program under his leadership.

We look forward to Coach Roach and our Football Coaching Staff beginning work with our LHS student-athletes this spring and summer as they prepare for this fall!
